About Us.
Plant Sitters was co-founded by Mads & Frenchie, just some transplants in Seattle looking to keep all plant babies happy. Former nursery workers and plant fanatics, we’re ready to put our expertise to use, and help you keep your plant kids alive!
Mads (they/them)
Repotted from North Carolina and getting some beautiful nodes out in Seattle; Mads is a lush Velvet Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron Micans). Right now, they’re probably nerding out about some quasi-academic novel or practicing Harp. They are constantly learning, but with one environmental degree under their belt, finding scientific solutions to plant problems is how they operate. As their interest to understand plants grew, the only logical solution was to amass a wide variety of subjects in which to test upon. Tinkering with plants, and finding what “makes them tick,” is what drives them to become a better parent. Specialties include: Philodendrons, Orchids, Lithops, and Alocasia.
Frenchie (she/hers)
Repotted from New Jersey and wiggling right up to the window for an afternoon sunbath; Frenchie is a dramatic Song of India (Dracena Reflexa). Currently, she is likely chasing her cat son, Waffles, around to give him smooches. After getting her first plant job at a florist’s, she collected her shop’s plants to tell customers how to best care for them from firsthand knowledge. Eventually, her “experimenting” turning into a mini indoor jungle and got her into a horticulture certificate program at Edmonds College. Specialties include: Peperomias, Aglaonemas, Bromeliads, Crotons and pet-safe plants.
